Master-planned Gilbert, from farm town to suburb
Gilbert grew from about 5,700 people in 1980 to more than 267,000 today, and a lot of that growth took the form of master-planned communities. Power Ranch, near Power and Germann roads, covers about 2,284 acres and some 7,400 homes. Morrison Ranch sits on the town's eastern edge. Agritopia, off Loop 202 near Higley and Ray, is built around a working organic farm. The Heritage District downtown, with its historic water tower, keeps the old farm-town feel.
For crane lifts, master-planned means two things: well-designed streets that usually give the truck room, and HOA rules that you'll want to check first.
Your HOA checklist before lift day
We're not the HOA, and every association is different, but these are the questions worth asking:
- Do they need notice for a contractor truck parked on the street?
- Does a new spa, shed, patio cover or solar array need architectural approval?
- Are there rules about work times on weekends?
- Is there a gate, and how will the truck get through?
- Do they want proof of insurance? (Skyhook Crane is licensed and insured.)
Getting these answers ahead of time keeps lift day short and keeps your neighbors happy.
What Gilbert customers lift
HVAC equipment. Contractors use us for rooftop package units, heat pumps and condensers on homes and on the commercial centers along Gilbert's arterials. We bring the old unit down in the same trip. See HVAC crane lifts.
Spas and swim spas. Walled backyards and narrow side yards make the crane the easy route. See spa and hot tub lifts.
Solar panels. We stage pallets on the roof for installers. See solar panel lifts.
Trusses and sheds. Patio covers, casitas, additions and prebuilt sheds lifted over the wall.
Rooflines, side yards and the distance that matters
If your Gilbert home is two stories, or sits close to the neighbors with narrow side yards, the distance from the truck to the backyard pad becomes the key number. Measure it if you can, or send a photo from the street and one from the backyard. Also note anything overhead: trees, wires and patio covers all affect the pick.
Fresh landscaping and HOA-maintained common areas matter too. We set up on the street or driveway, not on lawns or common-area turf, and we keep the work zone clear while the load is in the air. If a neighbor's driveway or a shared sidewalk will be briefly blocked, let them know ahead of time.

Frequently asked questions
Do you work in Power Ranch, Morrison Ranch and Agritopia?
Yes. We work throughout Gilbert, including its master-planned communities. Each has its own HOA rules, so check whether yours needs notice for a contractor truck or approval for a new spa or structure. Then call 602-615-0712 or text 623-258-8361 with your address and the lift details, and Don will confirm.
Can you lift a spa over a two-story house in Gilbert?
Often, yes. The spa's weight and the distance from the truck to the pad decide it, and a two-story home usually adds distance and height. Send the spa model or weight and photos from the street and the backyard. Don will confirm whether our truck can make the lift before you schedule anything.
Will my HOA need anything from you?
Some associations ask for proof of insurance, a parking plan or the time the truck will be on site. Skyhook Crane is licensed and insured, and we can tell your HOA where the truck will set up and roughly how long the lift should take once Don has confirmed the details.
