Where is Gold Canyon, and do you go there?

Yes, we do. Gold Canyon is an unincorporated community in Pinal County along US 60, about seven miles east of Apache Junction at the base of the Superstition Mountains. Most of the developed area sits on the north side of the highway, climbing toward the mountains, and it's known for golf and for open desert like the newer Peralta Regional Park.

From Surprise, it's a long cross-Valley run out US 60, so we like to confirm everything before we head out.

What makes a foothill lift different?

Homes closer to the mountains often sit on sloped lots, with natural desert, rock and washes around them. A crane truck has to set up on firm, level ground, and the swing path has to be clear. So we ask:

  • Where's the flattest solid spot near the house: driveway, street or motor court?
  • How far is it from there to where the load lands?
  • Is there a wash, slope or loose ground between the truck and the house?
  • Any lines, trees or roof features in the way?

Photos from the setup spot looking toward the landing area answer most of these at once. We'd rather spend five extra minutes on photos than find a problem after a 60-mile drive.

What do people lift in Gold Canyon?

HVAC units. Our main work. We set package units, heat pumps and condensers for contractors and lower the old ones in one trip. Because Gold Canyon is a long drive for everyone, contractors save the most by having the old unit disconnected, the curb ready and the new unit on site when we arrive. See HVAC crane lifts.

Spas. Patios with mountain views are a natural spot for a hot tub, and walls or slopes usually mean it goes over the house. See spa and hot tub lifts.

Solar. We stage panels on roofs for installers. See solar panel lifts.

Heavy items and materials. Safes, stone features, trusses and roofing materials.

Who do I check with about permits and HOA rules?

Since Gold Canyon isn't an incorporated town, public-road and permit questions generally go to Pinal County. If you live in a community with an HOA or a gate, check their rules on contractor vehicles and any approval needed for a new spa or structure. We can't give legal advice, but we're glad to share truck details your HOA asks for. Skyhook Crane is licensed and insured.

How do I book?

Every lift is different. Call 602-615-0712 or text 623-258-8361 with the weight of the item, how far it needs to go and where the truck can park, and he'll confirm the lift. If the lift is beyond our truck, we have trusted relationships with other crane companies and can point you in the right direction.

Frequently asked questions

Is Gold Canyon part of Apache Junction?

No. Gold Canyon is a separate, unincorporated community in Pinal County, about seven miles east of Apache Junction along US 60. It shares a school district with Apache Junction. For crane lifts we serve both, and for any permit or public-road questions in Gold Canyon, Pinal County is generally the place to ask.

Can you set a spa on a sloped Gold Canyon lot?

Often, yes. The truck sets up on the flattest solid ground available, usually the driveway or street, and the spa goes over the house. Its weight and the distance to the pad decide whether our truck can do it. Send the spa model and photos, and Don will confirm before you book.

Does weather affect lifts out near the Superstitions?

It can. Monsoon storms bring wind and heavy rain, and desert ground and washes can soften quickly. Wind can stop a lift even on a dry day. We check conditions before heading out and will reschedule if it isn't safe, rather than risk your property or our crew.
