Straight down the 303

Goodyear is an easy trip for us. Loop 303 runs from Surprise south to Interstate 10, where it becomes Cotton Lane, putting most of Goodyear within a direct drive of our base. The city covers about 191 square miles and crosses the Gila River, from Palm Valley north of I-10 to the Estrella community near the Estrella Mountains.

Goodyear is also home to Goodyear Ballpark, the spring training site for the Cleveland Guardians and Cincinnati Reds, and Phoenix Goodyear Airport. If your job is near the ballpark in spring, let us know so we can plan around game-day traffic.

Commercial and residential HVAC lifts

Lifting heating and cooling equipment for HVAC contractors is the core of our business. In Goodyear, that covers two kinds of work:

Commercial buildings

Retail centers, offices and other commercial buildings along the I-10 and Loop 303 corridors often have rooftop package units on flat roofs. We lift old units off, set new units and curbs, and stage equipment on the roof. Tell us where the truck can set up in the parking lot or drive aisle and what needs to be worked around.

Homes

In Goodyear's HOA neighborhoods, the job is often getting a condenser or heat pump over the house or block wall to a pad in back, or setting a package unit on a roof. Old-unit removal and the new set can usually happen in one visit.

Either way, your crew rigs and guides and we set the unit in one shot. See HVAC crane lifts and our notes for HVAC contractors.

PebbleCreek and other active adult homes

PebbleCreek is Goodyear's active adult community, built around 54 holes of championship golf. Lifts in a community like this call for a quiet, tidy setup: a clearly marked lift zone, a ground person watching for walkers and carts, and the truck in and out without fuss.

Residents call us for spas and hot tubs, heavy patio pieces and planters, and AC equipment replaced by their HVAC company. Check with the community's HOA about contractor and equipment rules before lift day.

Because many residents are home during the day, a heads-up to the neighbors on either side is a nice touch. It gives them time to move a car or a golf cart and keeps everyone clear of the lift area while the load is moving.

South of the river: Estrella's hillside lots

Estrella, Goodyear's largest master-planned community, sits south of the Gila River near the Estrella Mountains. Some homes here sit on sloped or terraced lots, and some backyards step down toward desert open space. That can affect where the truck sets up and how far the boom has to reach.

For Estrella jobs, send us photos of the front of the house, the driveway and the landing spot in back, and mention any slope. We also lift solar panels to the roof for installers, which saves the crew from carrying them up ladders.

Palm Valley, north of I-10, is a different picture: flatter lots, established HOA streets, and a mix of homes and nearby commercial buildings. Jobs there tend to be about the setup spot on the street or driveway and the reach over the house, rather than slope.

Safety, permits and what we need from you

  • HOA rules. Many Goodyear neighborhoods have an HOA. Ask about work trucks and street parking.
  • Street setup. Some cities require a right-of-way or street-use permit to set up in the street. Check with the City of Goodyear if the truck needs to sit in the roadway.
  • Overhead lines. OSHA requires crane equipment and loads to stay at least 20 feet from power lines up to 350 kV unless specific procedures are used (29 CFR 1926.1408).
  • Roof type. Many Goodyear homes have concrete tile roofs. Let us know so the lift path can be planned around it.

Every lift is different. Call with the weight of the item, how far it needs to go and where the truck can park, and Don will confirm the lift. If a job needs more crane than ours, we have trusted relationships with other crane companies. Skyhook Crane is licensed and insured.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take you to get to Goodyear from Surprise?

Goodyear is about 20 miles from our Surprise base, mostly straight down Loop 303, so it is one of the easier trips in our service area. Exact timing depends on traffic and where in Goodyear the job is. Call 602-615-0712 or text 623-258-8361 to schedule and Don will plan the arrival with your crew.

Can you lift rooftop units at a commercial building in Goodyear?

Yes. Rooftop package units, curbs and equipment on flat commercial roofs are a big part of our work for HVAC contractors. Tell us the unit weights, where the truck can set up in the lot or drive aisle, and what needs to be worked around, and Don will confirm the lift.

Can you set a spa at a home in PebbleCreek?

Often, yes. Spa lifts over the house into a walled backyard are a common job in active adult communities. It depends on the spa's weight, the distance from the truck to the pad and where the truck can park. Check with the HOA about contractor rules, then send us those details to confirm.
